About Katja

Katja Kobow is PI of the Kobow Lab at the  Universitätsklinikum Erlangen, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. A biochemist turned molecular neuropathologist with a Ph.D. in neuroscience and genetics, her independent research focuses on epigenetics and focal epilepsies where she works to improve understanding of the brain’s mechanisms and the diagnoses of samples. Researching a disease like epilepsy allows her to study the human brain’s complexity and beauty while finding meaning in improving patients’ lives and clinical care.
