About Graeme
Graeme Sills, PhD, is Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology at the University of Glasgow, where he is Year 3 lead and Deputy Director of the BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology degree programme, and holds fellowships from Advance HE and the British Pharmacological Society.
Graeme received his undergraduate degree in Pharmacology and his PhD from the University of Glasgow before embarking on an academic research career in the field of epilepsy and anti-seizure drugs at the Universities of Glasgow and Liverpool. His research interests have been broad spectrum; covering mechanisms of drug action, animal models, genomics & pharmacogenomics, clinical trials, clinical pharmacology, and the phenomenon of drug resistance, all in the field of epilepsy. He has published over 150 research papers, review articles, book chapters and online teaching modules on epilepsy mechanisms and anti-seizure drugs.
Graeme is a former chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee and Board of Trustees at Epilepsy Research UK. He currently sits on council of the ILAE (British Branch), the steering committee of the UK Epilepsy & Pregnancy Register, the Education & Training committee and Meetings committee of the British Pharmacological Society, and the editorial board of five scientific journals. He is also Honorary Vice-President of the Epilepsy Research Institute UK.
