About Ángel

Ángel is a Neurologist and Epileptologist with a dedicated focus on rare and complex epilepsies, caring for both paediatric and adult patients. Ángel is also Co-Director of the Clinical Neurosciences Institute at Campus Blua Sanitas Valdebebas Hospital (Madrid).

His primary research passions centre around epilepsy genetics and related fields, including developmental and epileptic encephalopathies. He also explores topics such as functional neurological disorders (functional dissociative seizures) and environmental factors influencing epilepsy. In addition, he actively participates in clinical trials aimed at advancing precision medicine for neurogenetic conditions.

Above all, he am deeply committed to advocating for people with an epilepsy, especially those facing refractory epilepsies and functional seizures (FND). His contributions extend to scientific advisory roles and collaborative efforts with patient advocacy groups, with a heartfelt focus on addressing the social aspects of these conditions.
